I bought this fingerprint reader door handle for my bedroom, as i know im useless at finding my keys!
Upon opening the product, i was pleasently surprised. The door handle was well constructed and certainly had a more premium feel to it than i expected for the price.
Installing the handle was a piece of cake, and the inclusive instructions were clear with pictures – this is coming from a DIY-phobe who struggles to put even shelves up!
I got this handle ro replace and old fingerprint reader handle of a different make, as the old one looked too chunky. This one is sleek and subtle.
Registering my fingerprint was easy, and i have tested it by asking others to unlock it which proved the thing works how it is meant to. The description says this handle can store a number of fingerprints, however i cant comment on that functionality as its just me that needs the access.
Overall, very impressed with it. I wouldnt use it on an external door, as i guess with a heavy handed boot it may give way, but its certianly excellent for indoor use.

The instructions with the handle are absolute garbage. The video is slightly more useful but I unfortunately every fingerprint opens it. Factory reset it and tried again. Every fingerprint opens it. Five people tried it with all their fingertips and then one tried with his nose. Yes, the nose did open it. Very disappointing and now of course I have three big pointless holes in my door.
**UPDATE**
I trawled YouTube and managed to find a helpful tutorial meant for an identical but different brand of door handle. The instruction book talks about the control button and using it to add/authorise new fingerprints. Since the instructions and diagrams make no mention of a control button at all, I had assumed this was the fingerprint pad. The control button is actually the factory reset button on the battery casing, just used slightly differently. A shortish press of it will make the fingerprint button flash. Knowing this makes the whole process make a lot more sense.
It’s fiddly having to take the battery compartment out when you need to add an extra print, but it at least does work. So far it’s been fairly consistent although it did manage to forget a very important fingerprint. Luckily the key works fine, so please do give the big players in your household one of the two provided keys.
It’s worth noting as well that actually fitting the handle is quite fiddly, as it needs three significant holes created on the face of the door. The edge where the catch bit goes in is more or less the same as other UK locks. The three significant holes (on my door at any rate) were nowhere near the existing hole, meaning that a big fat 1.5in hole from the previous lock sits just to the side of the handle once fitted. It doesn’t affect the handle or make it possible to break in, but it does make the door look as though someone’s granny had a break-in and then got their geeky but non-DIY grandchild to fit shiny tech after the event. I’ve used squares of balsa and slid them behind the handle to cover the hole (yes, haha, balsa is known for its Fort Knox strength) but it at least gives a bit more of an impression of security. I’ll replace the balsa with metal at some point, so it will all eventually work out okay!
