I bought another camera, not mentioning the brand, at a much cheaper price point. I had a really close call with a tractor that failed to give way, but then found out that the camera hadn’t been recording since the day after I put it in two months before, even though the power light was on. I decided to push the boat out a bit and invest into a more expensive camera instead, given the cost of not having video of an accident could be significantly higher than the cost of the camera itself.

This dash-cam does not disappoint. By far the best quality camera I’ve ever had, the rear camera is twice the resolution of the previous camera’s front camera.

Installation – Very very easy. The camera comes out of the box, you stick a bracket to the windscreen and slide the camera into it. The Micro USB port is visible on the back of the camera, and the lens sits on a swivel head, so you can adjust the angle without having to remove the camera from the windscreen. It always makes me smile when a company puts effort into the smaller details that make a product a pleasure to use. The camera is already setup with the correct date and time, which I’ve never seen before. Once it’s plugged into the cigarette lighter, and the engine is running, it turns itself on and starts recording. It writes over the oldest data if the card is full, without changing any settings, works like the right out of the box.

Quality – Very rigid design, no sign of any cheap and nasty plastics, all hard and solid feeling. No rattling. Well packaged.

Video quality – The way I normally judge the quality of the camera footage is the visibility of other drivers license plates. In the unfortunate situation of a hit and run, this is the one thing this camera really needs to perform well on. Any camera on the market will be able to show you the car, in various quality levels, driving into the back of you – but the best cameras will show the license plate in clear quality. I can very easily see number plates, in high quality, both day and night, on the front and back cameras. Not only that, the angle is impressively wide, so the video covers the whole back of the car, and small amounts of the sides at the back.

Over the moon with this camera. I genuinely feel like I can trust it, and the video will be there if it’s needed.
