first of let me say i really like this rc racer and i would strongly recommended this to anyone looking for an rc car for there children or themselves, the control is good and it is very easy to use, it has a 50 minutes run time and is great for distracting your kids and yourself. In the box it comes with a screwdriver, a usb charging cable, an instructions manual, 2 batteries for the rc car it self, and obviously the controller and the rc car. The only downfalls for it is that it takes 4-6 hours to charge and it doesn’t come with batteries for the controller, personally i don’t see this as a problem but if your someone that doesn’t have time to charge the batteries it could be a massive one. all in all i think this is a great beginner rc car and would recommended to anyone looking for an rc car. Originally, an RC car isn’t the kind of thing I’d just randomly decide to buy on a whim. I don’t really have the space for it in my flat and probably wouldn’t get much use out of it to begin with, other than a few sparing uses here and there when I’m bored. Instead, I decided to take the chance and get an early Christmas present for one of my nephews. At least this way I could test it, see how it runs, and then that’s one less present to pay for.

As it turns out, my poor nephew may no longer be getting his present any longer. (Either that, or I’ll have to end up getting my own.) The RC car itself is a lot of fun and considering what you’re paying for it, there isn’t a lot that I can honestly complain about overall.

What does it come with, though? First of all, what you’ll get with the entire package is an RC Car, a controller, a small screwdriver, instructions booklet, two rechargeable batteries for the car, and a USB charger for those batteries. The only thing you will need is a pair of AA batteries for the controller and that’s about it – you’re all ready to go.

After a quick charge and an even faster flick of the on-switch for both the car and controller, it was ready to race around my house, much to the disgust of my dog. I started with a long-stretch of the hallway, of which has laminated floors. What I quickly found out about the RC car is just how drifty it can be if you want it to be, at least when it’s on wood. When on carpet, it’s a lot more controlled, but it works just as well on carpet or hardwood flooring, which is a great bonus. A lot of these really don’t do that well on carpeted flooring unless you’re paying more than the average.

Going back to the driving, this RC shot-down my hallway at a much faster pace than I ever would have expected. Considering the price of this RC car, the speed it provides is a lot of fun and anyone thinking of getting this for races with their children is going to have a lot of fun, all at break-neck speeds. Providing you have the space for this kind of speed, of course.

In terms of the build, I’m very happy with the build of the car. The plastic surrounding the car is solid and built to last, along with the suspension that keeps the wheels and chassis of the car intact. Pretty much no matter how hard you try, you’re going to have a rough time causing any real damage to this thing. It takes bumps well, as well as jumps, and even drops off of stairs. Just how resilient this thing is makes it all the more enjoyable to play with, knowing just how well it’s going to hold up in the long-run.

Admittedly, though, the controller could do with a little bit more work on it. It’s rather light, which is nice, so it isn’t particularly hard to carry around for long periods of time. The main downside to the controller is the accelerator and the steering. Instead of gradual acceleration or turning, it is instead instant. When you turn left, it won’t register until the steering wheel clicks, indicating that it’s now turning left. The same is with the accelerator – when you hold accelerate or the reverse, it will go forward or back, but you can’t slow it down in any way. Not unless you simply tap the acceleration, which is fine, but it’s not preferable. Honestly, though, for the power and price you get with this RC car, it’s to be expected.

Overall, though, I honestly really enjoyed my time playing around with this RC car. At the speed it goes, I really was not expecting that and is easily one of the best aspects of the car as a whole. The controller isn’t incredible, but the package as a whole is great value for money and is probably one of the best budget RC cars I’ve ever come

bought this early as a birthday gift for my grandson who will be 7 next month. I had it sent direct to my daughter as I will not be able to travel to see him on his birthday. Obviously, it hasn’t been used yet but she says it looks amazing and sure he’ll love it. I’ve awarded 4 stars as product not tested but the service was quick as it arrived a day earlier than expected.

Review revised from 2 stars – seller advised I should try an different USB power source, one on my PC was fine, Samsung wall phone charger seems to have been the issue.

(original review) Bought for eight year old son for Christmas. He really enjoyed playing with it until the battery ran out. Now it appears that both sets of batteries are faulty because neither will last more than about a second or two off a full charge. I’ve contacted the seller but will probably have to return the item which is annoying because if I buy a replacement the price has now gone up. The battery swap process is too fiddly for young children but I’d live with it if the batteries worked. As it is, impossible to recommend.

Got this as a birthday present for my 5yr old son. Its ok, the batteries last ages as they are only 3.4v so not really powerful or have much kick or omph but the charging cable is incredibly weak and the connectors they have used are almost impossible to find a replacement for. I have emailed their support to try get a replacement but I’m not really optimistic on hearing back. Our charging cable stopped working within 2 months (bought in June, stopped working in August!).

I would probably get another one and can’t recommend – if you search HS 183201, this 4×4 buggy is about the same price and so much better from AliExpress – I’d get that instead which is what I ended up having to do for my son.
