RIP to my beloved Keter Store It Out Max. You lasted 2 years, until Storm Eunice destroyed your roof.
These sheds will last forever apart from one critical weakness which is the way the roof is constructed. In direct wind the lid will blow open and get apart due to the way the pistons are attached. Even if you have clipped it shut and locked the handle down.
During its life I have found the lid blown open 5-10 times on windy days. Wish I had kept using a padlock now like I did for the first few months I owned it.
I will never buy a lifting roof shed again. I bought a Keter High Store as replacement (they really own the market don’t they), this new one does not have a lifting roof.
Keter have discontinued these and changed the locking mechanism and piston design in newer sheds so that says it all really. Also a note on Keter’s customer service – replacement parts seem impossible to get as Keter don’t reply to emails.
Mr. D.C. Spangol –
I got one of these from Amazon Warehouse that was supposed to be damaged. Having seen a few complaints from people who paid full price whose packages arrived damaged, I thought I’d be better off getting it cheaper (<£98) and with the level of damage noted.
The one I had, had a broken fin inside the lid (not visible from outside, and no effect on function), and a slight buckle in the metal bar across the back which didn't affect the final assembled product.
It's perfect for what we had in mind. Assembly is simple, I had no assistance, even attaching the lid via the pistons, where the lid and pistons sat obligingly in place while I put in the screws.
Instructions show you need either a drill or an electric screwdriver, but I didn't have to use either, just an ordinary ratchet screwdriver. And I'm not particularly strong when it comes to putting in screws. I had some planks of wood used to add shelves, and I only used a drill to make pilot holes for that.
There were 5 spare screws supplied, I wish I had counted them at the beginning, as I also used two planks to make a base. There are screwing points in the floor section and it would have been easier to put them on right at the beginning.
I don't see the point of the padlock point on the right door, as you could still open the lid, and the padlock point which holds down the lid, closes and secures everything. Well as secure as possible in something made of plastic which you could cut through.
I've got all the stuff I need to store in it, and it does keep the rain out. My 2mx2m popup gazebo fits when folded up, along with a leaf vacuum. 2 chairs with cushions, with a fold-up table under the shelf I put in, with the weights for the gazebo under the chairs. I have two crates one on top of the other, and room for another foldable chair which is on order.
So we have a small back garden where everything can come out when we want to sit out there, and go away tidily afterwards.
I've marked it down on easy to lock, because it takes a bit of a pull/push to get a medium shackle lock through the hole, and it also has an extra locking point which is confusing as it locks the doors but not the lid!

Very pleased to receive all pieces intact (having read previous reviewers receiving broken parts I was a little nervous). Better pleased with the quality having received it – but do remember, it is only plastic at the end of the day so if you want something more substantial then this probably isn’t it! The back is the least sturdy – rather like the bit of plywood you often put on the back of a flat pack cupboard, only this is plastic. Did not find this a 25 min job as in the description. Although it’s quite straight forward, OH actually spent about an hour at it. Ok, maybe if you used a power tool you might get there quicker, but OH found that was causing some damage, so changed to a ratchet screwdriver. If you do QR codes, then getting the digital instructions (code on the manual) can be a nice addition to the instruction manual though you need to use them in conjunction as the digital one is a little, lets say, ‘brief’! We found that on the bottom and top door closures we had to find our own screws as the given ones just would not fit. The other annoying part was securing the back in place as none of the holes are pre made for you so that takes a bit of work. Once all together it’s light enough to lift, but also feels sturdy (when fitting the roof, we had to stand on the base and it comfortably held 16st). It doesn’t quite fit under my window as I wanted so have placed it slightly out the way. You can secure to the ground if wanted; also add shelves as desired (there are resting points inside, just fashion your own shelving). Fixtures included for 2 bins if wanted (it’s the height of your wheelie bin). The roof stays up nicely on its own. Overall, happy for the price paid and hoping this will have a long life!

Ordered item on Friday and delivered the next day – amazed by the super fast and brilliant delivery!!! Was a bit worried about receiving damaged and missing parts from reading some of the reviews but luckily they were all there and in good condition.
The instructions only had pictures so very disappointing as they were not that clear. I watched a YouTube video on how to assemble this. In the video, it did not show the exact model but it was very similar and the step by step assembly instructions were the same – watching this really helped. The metal bar that was included was a tiny bit too long so had to drill new holes. It took me about two hours to assemble with the help of my daughter – not too bad. However there is no way you can assemble the unit in 25 minutes as stated in the instructions, unless you are an expert!
I have to say it is not as straight forward to assemble as some people have commented. You definitely will need a cordless screwdriver to insert the screws in as it makes the job so much easier and quicker.
Please note as this is very important part of the installation – you will also need a longer manual screwdriver to get in between the inside part of each of the hinges to fix a screw as it is a very tight space and difficult to use the cordless one.
The unit looks great and is functioning as it should. It is very spacious but in my opinion it seems quite flimsy and not as strong as I thought it would be. As of this moment, I do not know how durable it will be and cannot comment on how weather proof it will be as I have only assembled it today but I am not holding out much hope from the comments I have read.
