Easy to set up and controls watering precisely to my chosen schedule via the Smart Life app. However, the schedule can only be programmed and adjusted when my phone is in range of the device, which isn’t helpful if I’m away from home. I purchased the timer on the assumption I could control it remotely, like my Nest thermostat. Instead I receive a “Device Connection Failure” warning, although the timer will stick to the predetermined schedule.

Setup was fairly simple. I went for the WiFi model which essentially is the Bluetooth model with a wifi Gateway (hub). As pictured the Gateway plugs neatly into UK plug socket, all be it with the name upside down. As per the instructions I added the hub to Tuya Smart app and then added the Valve Controller. Both items then show up in the App, the Valve Controller shows up in the Apps main screen, it is not necessary to enter the Gateway node to reach the Valve Controller – but you can.
Setting up a timer is then fairly straight forward, select the Valve, click the clock and then the plus (+) sign.
I set up a daily routine, and was able to delay watering from afar, hooray! The delay feature is a little poor, as it is not obvious from the selection what is in effect. I mean you select 48h, but then the next day the option still says 48h is selected when 24 of them have already gone – thankfully the Next Run Time does show you – but not always straight away!
The app has a Notification issue, for some reason these all (most) double up (photo).
Warning, check batteries! One morning it failed to stop irrigation! It thought it had, but nothing actually stopped. Despite the app showing good battery strength, replacing the batteries fixed the issue. The two AA batteries (GP Greencell Extra Heavy Duty 1.5v) therefore lasted approximately seven weeks. It would be great if the device could have informed me that the OFF had failed, and raised an alarm.
Regarding the app, I could not see how to delete a timer, I ended up having to remove the device from Tuya Smart which then offered to erase all settings from the device. It was then rediscovered and added easily.
All in all I am fairly happy with the device, just need to make sure fresh batteries are installed when going away and that the watering is at a time when I can monitor it.

Alexa only is able to turn the device on and off but doesnt seem like anything else i was expecting to be able to say turn on for 2 minutes i also tried setting up a routine so when motion in the garden is detected between certain times to turn on the sprinkler for just 1 minute but it stays on for 20 i also set the irrigation to 1/2/3 minutes hoping this would allow the routine to be effective. Please advise me if i am able to get the timer to achieve this? A list of possible alexa commands would be helpful?
The wifi / bluetooth on the hub is poor the hub needs to be extremely close (5 meters) to the water valve to work also

The product comes with the water timer, Wi-Fi hub, inlet fitting, threaded connector, rubber washers and seal tape. Overall setting up this Wi-Fi timer is very easy and only takes 2-9 minutes. It only requires you to put 4x AA batteries into the time itself having a water proof cover to stop water getting into the batteries compartment. The timer has two connectors on the bottom allowing you to connect two hose pipes if you want to. At the top of the timer is the screw on connected to directly connect to your garden tap. The product comes with a plug, which you plug in ,allowing you to remotely check the pressure of the water through the free app using a Wi-Fi connection allowing you to increase or decrease the pressure from a minimum of 0.5 bar to 8bars. On the other hand on their is a manual watering setting on the device which doesn’t affect the watering schedules. The app also has voice assist allowing you to open the valve much easily. Overall I would say this product is excellent for people who need to carry out watering remotely helping them save time, whilst have excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
