5 reviews for 8 x 4ft Outdoor Garden Storage Shed with Lockable Door for Backyard Lawn Green
This storage is roomy and meets our needs. I’ve given only 3 stars as the lid of the box is damaged, although it doesn’t effect the working of storage. Lockdown with this corona virus, I was just grateful to receive the box, therefore I haven’t complained or returned item as normally we would. If the box was perfect, definitely a 4/5 star product. Assembly took one person, however it did need a bit of previous know how, as it needed knocking together in places for the screws to screw. We haven’t had bad weather as yet to try waterproof out. However that said, it shouldn’t leak because of how it’s made. I would say this is big enough to store the kids bikes, but not adults (I may be wrong as I haven’t tried). Also big enough to store one of the large gas bbqs, depending on size of course. I would definitely buy again. Hopefully next time I/we will receive a perfect storage item.

RIP to my beloved Keter Store It Out Max. You lasted 2 years, until Storm Eunice destroyed your roof.
These sheds will last forever apart from one critical weakness which is the way the roof is constructed. In direct wind the lid will blow open and get apart due to the way the pistons are attached. Even if you have clipped it shut and locked the handle down.
During its life I have found the lid blown open 5-10 times on windy days. Wish I had kept using a padlock now like I did for the first few months I owned it.
I will never buy a lifting roof shed again. I bought a Keter High Store as replacement (they really own the market don’t they), this new one does not have a lifting roof.
Keter have discontinued these and changed the locking mechanism and piston design in newer sheds so that says it all really. Also a note on Keter’s customer service – replacement parts seem impossible to get as Keter don’t reply to emails.

I like the Keter brand but as usual there were a few niggles one of which was the fact that not all screw holes had been pilot drilled so had to drill these out or use a bradawl to make a hole first because the screws would not go in by themselves. It definitely requires two people to build it and I had a mental picture of the woman who had left feedback stating she had built it herself and that she was in her 60s! Well done if this was the case and we’ll no doubt see her on “Britain Strongest Person” in the near future. Getting the storage unit out of the box required at least 2 people and I’d have been there yet trying to fix the back on to the 2 sides if doing it on my own! This is not my first Keter product and I built a shed myself and also a pent shed I built for my wife ( as a smoking shelter) and I did manage to do these myself apart from putting the roofs on. It has been built now for 2 weeks and is proving to be waterproof but as you would expect it does feel damp inside after it has rained. The locking mechanism I find a bit tricky but may become easier with practice. Overall though, I would recommend this item and the more the merrier to help you build it. On this build, because of ill health, I acted as foreman and read the instructions and pointed out the part required to two mates ( one of whom had already built one of these!) but it still took over an hour to build. Once built, it is quite sturdy and I am planning on adding a shelf or two eventually to maximize the storage area. I must admit we had a laugh building it and that was worth an extra star. If you are considering buying this, I’d recommend that you go for it. Also, this was the cheapest site that I found this unit other sites were charging between £20.00-£30.00 more!

With so many reviews stating damaged items with packaging in good condition I was very much aware of the gamble in ordering, the only saving grace was it being fulfilled by Amazon in case of returns.
the packaging was good and after carefully opening the box (just in case of re-packaging) all sections were undamaged.
I can only guess that it depends on the courier who delivers to us or the delivery to amazon depot, but with the amount of damaged packages even now should be investigated.
anyway the item:
As mentioned by other reviewers there is a metal trim that you could miss if not careful, this is stored at the back of the base unit and should be removed ready to be used at the top of the back panel.
all other items are clearly bagged and/or labelled including each item having it’s code stamped on it.
the instructions are pictorial but without written guidance, so take your time looking at the picture and component for each stage and you will find it reasonably easy to assemble. it does suggest 2 people but I think this is just for the lid fixture which is the hinge part and does require 2 people, but the rest is easy enough for one person assuming reasonable DIY skills.
there is NO pre-drilling needed as suggested by some reviews, the screw holes are clearly marked and the screws are self drilling and there are quite a few of them so would suggest an electric screwdriver.
The back panel (two section folded piece) is a little fiddly to get in the side panels as it bows in the middle where the fold is but once one side is in it becomes a little easier, note it states the fold slot should face inwards as shown on the instructions so check this before hand to avoid having to take it out again. all the rest of the assembly is relatively straight forward if you take your time.
NOTE: When it states to be placed on level ground, this is true as if particularly uneven the doors will not line up properly making it hard to close the doors and the lid, I had prepared a level section for it but the area I used for assembly was not as level which is where I noticed the issue.
if you do have uneven ground look at packing sections up to get it reasonably level.
after assembly as mentioned by others it is a little flexible on the side panels which gives the impression it is flimsy but once you have it in position it is sturdy enough if not moved around often,
suggested tools: electric screwdriver, screwdriver medium size and level ground.
overall I am very pleased with delivery, quality and value for money, if not moved around often this should last several years but as with anything plastic try if possible to keep it out of the sun as over the years it will become brittle.
Even with all the damaged on delivery issues I would take the gamble again as it is a good product.
I hope you found this review helpful, if so please give me a tick, if not please leave a comment, thank you.
